Shapes and Sizes
Although most cigars are straight-sided cylinders with one rounded end, there are a number of traditional cigar formats with more novel shapes--the figurados.
Many shape names are used by manufacturers, some cigars even have multiple names.

Ring Sizes
In the U.S., the U.K. and Cuba, length is measured in inches and diameter is designated in "ring gauge"--a measurement divided into 64ths of an inch. A cigar with a ring gauge of 42, for example, has a diameter of 42/64ths of an inch.

Cigar Wrapper
The shade of the leaf used to wrap your cigar (wrapper), which can range from light green to almost jet-black, accounts for less than 20% of a cigar’s flavor. The wrapper does not necessarily indicate the kind of tobacco leaf used, and it doesn’t indicate whether the cigar is mild or full bodied.

Cigar Seconds
As you can imagine, for perfectionists like our
cigar manufacturers, not all the cigars make the grade and many are pulled from production due to small cosmetic blemishes on the wrapper. Since factories don't intentionally produce seconds, the supply on some sizes is limited. Cigar Seconds |

Pairing
Cigars & Drinks
The most popular traditional drink with fine cigars is Cognac or brandy. Cognac is drunk after dinner, when the dinner parties are going off to smoke their cigars. Spirits and wine provide an ideal marriage with a premium hand-rolled cigar. Your choice of beverage depends on personal taste, but it can vary according to the occasion.
