Here is something rare! The original Diamond Crown line was released in the early 1990’s to mark the 100th anniversary of JC Newman cigars. Stanford wanted to develop a truly exceptional series of cigars unlike any other on the market. Since their inception, they have been a staple of quality and construction, raising the bar for all other cigar makers in the Dominican Republic. One of the factors that makes the taste of DIAMOND CROWN cigars so special is its exclusive Connecticut Fermented Wrapper. Ten years later, as fuller-bodied cigars were becoming more popular, Stanford Newman approached Carlos Fuente with a new idea for his treasured Diamond Crown line, a full-bodied version. The secret to this fuller-bodied blend is its El Bajo Sun Grown wrapper that packs a robust flavor. This wrapper is grown in Ecuador by the Famous Oliva tobacco family, growers of the worlds finest tobacco. Despite its rich, dark Ecuador wrapper, Diamond Crown Maximus is not a maduro cigar. This leaf in conjunction with the expert rollers at the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic have turned the Diamond Crown Maximus into a legend.

Each Diamond Crown cigar must pass through three separate inspections. Finally, the cigars are aged 12 full months in Carlos Fuente's cedar curing rooms, prior to a fourth and final inspection.
